Former soldier Scott Meenagh has boosted his chances of making the Great Britain team for next month's Winter Paralympics after producing the best biathlon results of his career in Vuokatti, Finland.
Meenagh finished ninth in the sprint sitting event, finishing in a time of 30 minutes 17 seconds, which was 4:09 slower than the eventual winner Eui Hyun Sin from South Korea.
"Most of all I feel my composure and clarity when shooting at high heart rate has improved."
Meenagh lost both of his legs when he stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) while serving in Afghanistan and he credits his military experience as a key component in his shooting skills.
He decided to take up the biathlon after watching the event at the Sochi Games in 2014 and has only recently made the switch after previously competing in para athletics and para rowing and winning medals at the 2017 Invictus Games.
