About Sophie

Sophie will be bringing you stories from the GB House during the Games.

When she was 18 years old, Sophie had a car accident driving friends back from a party. She fractured her skull and shattered her nose, cheek and jaw and broke her collarbone. She also had a spinal cord injury, which meant that she was paralysed from the chest down.

She loves sport, swims every day and has recently learned to ski again, and never thought about taking it further - but the Paralympics may change that.

Sophie also loves to travel and since her first post-accident adventure in Nicaragua with Ade Adepitan in 2004 (shown on BBC2's Beyond Boundaries) she has travelled the world.
